China pocketed 1 billion yuan from the 2008 Olympic

According to a release by the National Audit Office, total revenue from the 2008 Beijing Olympic is about 20.5 billion yuan, 0.8 billion higher than originally expected; total expenditure is about 19.34 billion yuan; and the net is more than 1 billion yuan.
For the subsequent Paralympic Games, total revenue and total expenditure are all about 0.863 billion yuan. The two opening and closing ceremonies used 0.831 billion yuan in total.
The above expenditures are operating expenses. Construction cost is not included in the above calculation. Because of the Olympic, 36 gaming sites and 66 training centers were constructed in several cities with total expenditure of 19.5 billion yuan.
In addition, another 2.7 billion yuan was also spent to assist the two games in Beijing. This money was generated through a special lottery program geared toward the two Games.
